Kazakh president mulls strategic cooperation with Turkish defence chief
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Türkiye's Minister of National Defence, Yaşar Güler in Astana, and discussed security cooperation.
President Tokayev noted that bilateral and multilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Türkiye are developing in all areas, Caliber.Az reports, citing the press service of the Office of Kazakhstan's President.
He conveyed his best wishes to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and emphasised the importance of further strengthening strategic cooperation and partnership between Kazakhstan and Türkiye.
Güler expressed appreciation for the warm reception in his ancestral homeland and emphasized Türkiye's commitment to strengthening its ties with Kazakhstan, grounded in trust and mutual support.
The minister also expressed great appreciation for Kazakhstan's efforts in tackling both regional and international challenges.
Notably, on September 10, Güler met with his Azerbaijani and Georgian counterparts during his visit to the Georgian capital.
Güler paid a visit to Tbilisi to attend a trilateral defence ministers’ meeting of Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Georgia.
The Turkish defence chief first met with his Georgian counterpart Irakli Chikovani. Afterwards, he met with Azerbaijan’s Defence Minister Zakir Hasanov.
