Kazakhstan stops celebrating Day of First President

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has signed a law on the exclusion of the Day of the first president of the country from the list of public holidays.
The head of state signed the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Cinematography, Culture and Holidays”, TASS reports, citing Tokayev’s press service.
Under the amendments, the Day of the First President, which is celebrated on December 1, was excluded from the list of public holidays.
