Kremlin: Russia preparing to host US envoy for talks with Putin

The Kremlin is preparing to receive US Special Representative Steve Witkoff next week for high-level talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

Peskov confirmed that Moscow is expecting Witkoff’s visit and anticipates “detailed discussions with the president,” responding to questions about whether the meeting would take place, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.

According to earlier reporting by Bloomberg, Witkoff proposed in October the development of a joint Russian-US initiative aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine, modeled in part on diplomatic efforts used in the Gaza Strip.

Further details about the agenda for the upcoming talks have not yet been disclosed.
