Majority of Armenians oppose government policies, peace efforts Poll results
A new survey conducted in Armenia shows that a majority of respondents disapprove of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's governance, with public dissatisfaction extending to the country’s political landscape and proposed constitutional changes.
According to Gallup International Association data presented by Aram Navasardian, a significant portion of the Armenian population does not support Pashinyan's policies or his handling of national affairs, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.
The survey results indicate that:
- 46.5% of respondents completely disapprove of Pashinyan’s work.
- 19.1% assess it as rather negative.
- 15.5% hold a somewhat positive opinion.
- Only 9% of respondents fully support the Prime Minister.
Support for Pashinyan’s ruling party, Civil Contract, appears to be weak, with less than 12% of respondents willing to vote for it in the next parliamentary elections.
Among opposition parties:
- 4.7% of respondents would vote for the “Armenia” bloc.
- 3.5% favor the “Dog” party.
- Prosperous Armenia has 2.7% support.
- “I Have Honor” follows with 2.1%.
Additionally:
- 6.2% of respondents said they would not vote for any party.
- 4.7% intend to spoil their ballot.
- 24.6% found it difficult to answer.
- A significant 32.4% stated they would not participate in the elections at all.
The survey also indicates that Armenians oppose altering the country's Constitution, with:
- 59.6% believe the Constitution should remain unchanged.
- 18.4% supporting amendments to some provisions.
- Only 7.5% advocating for a completely new Constitution.
Furthermore, a majority of respondents expressed a preference for closer ties with Russia, rather than pursuing alternative geopolitical alignments.
