Media: Iran may strike Israel before US election
The sources close to the Iranian leadership have said that Iran may be contemplating an attack on Israeli territory within the next two to three days.
Iran may strike before the presidential election in the US on November 5, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
On November 2, Spokesman for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Major General Ali Mohammad Naeini stated that Iran's response to the Israeli attack will be marked by its unexpectedness and will exceed all of the adversary's expectations.
He noted that Israel is mistaken in thinking that Iran fears engaging in war and direct confrontation, leaving military attacks unanswered.
On October 1, Iran carried out a large-scale missile strike against Israel in retaliation for the assassinations of key Hamas, Hezbollah, and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps officials. In response to this attack, Israel has vowed to take action.
On October 26, the Israel Defense Forces reported that they had targeted military installations within Iran due to "numerous continuous attacks." The Islamic Republic of Iran Air Defense Force confirmed that military facilities in the provinces of Ilam, Tehran, and Khuzestan were hit, but noted that the damage was limited, as air defenses successfully intercepted most incoming strikes. The Israeli attacks resulted in the deaths of at least four Iranian servicemen and one civilian.
