Media: Iran’s Sejjil missile caught US off guard
The use of a new version of Iran’s Sejjil ballistic missile during retaliatory strikes has emerged as a major “surprise” for the United States, according to a report by “Krasnaya Zvezda.”
The publication reviewed the course of US and Israeli operations against Iran, noting that during the 31st wave of retaliatory strikes, Iran began deploying heavy missiles, including the Khorramshahr-4 and Kheibar Shekan systems. It also highlighted the large-scale use of long-range attack drones, which reportedly overwhelmed enemy air defence systems.
“However, the main surprise for the American command was the use by Iran of the latest version of the 25-ton, two-stage solid-fuel ballistic missile Sejjil with four separating warheads, each weighing 200 kilograms,” the article stated.
The author emphasised that the Sejjil missile’s warheads are highly accurate, with a possible deviation from the target of approximately 20–30 metres.
