Minister: Bosnia and Herzegovina nears opening of embassy in Azerbaijan
Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) is in the final stages of establishing an embassy in Azerbaijan.
According to the official page of the Bosnian Foreign Ministry on social media, this was announced following a meeting between BiH Foreign Minister Elmedin Konakovic and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, Caliber.Az reports.
“At a meeting between Bosnia and Herzegovina's Foreign Minister Elmedin Konakovic and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, the two ministers welcomed the opening of Azerbaijan's embassy in Sarajevo. Konakovic highlighted that Bosnia is in the final stages of establishing its embassy in Azerbaijan, which will enhance relations between the two nations, particularly in economic areas.
Both sides acknowledged that there are no unresolved issues between their countries but agreed that efforts to finalize a bilateral agreement should be expedited," the post reads.

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, in turn, emphasized the importance of leveraging cooperation opportunities in tourism, agriculture, industry, technology, and mutual investments. Bayramov noted that the upcoming session of COP29 presents favourable prospects for new avenues of partnership between Azerbaijan and BiH.
"Additionally, Bosnia and Herzegovina received detailed information regarding the current situation in the region post-conflict, including large-scale reconstruction efforts in liberated territories, the ongoing battle against landmines, and the agenda for normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia,” the ministry stated.
