Moldovan PM meets with Azerbaijani business circles reps PHOTO

On October 11, Prime Minister of Moldova Natalia Gavrilita met with representatives of Azerbaijani business circles as part of her visit to the country.

During the meeting, Gavrilita first stated that her country attaches special importance to the development of relations with Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijani Economy Ministry.

She noted the role of ongoing discussions in developing cooperation and establishing new business ties, as well as the importance of expanding relations between business circles and implementing new joint projects in various fields.

The prime minister spoke about the work done in the direction of attracting investments, developing entrepreneurship, supporting small and medium-sized businesses in Moldova, and invited representatives of local business circles to active cooperation.

At the meeting, it was emphasized that trade and investment ties are one of the main directions of Azerbaijani-Moldovan cooperation.

From January through August 2022, the trade turnover increased four times between Azerbaijan and Moldova, including exports from Azerbaijan compared to the same period last year increased 13 times.

About 30 Moldovan companies are said to operate in various fields in Azerbaijan.

Deputy Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Sahib Mammadov noted the partnership between our countries, stressed the importance of ongoing activities in expanding trade and economic ties, as well as cooperation between the business circles of the two countries.

In addition, he informed about the favourable business and investment environment in Azerbaijan, mechanisms to support entrepreneurs, construction projects implemented in the liberated territories of our country, the activities of industrial zones, as well as the opportunities of the Alat free economic zone.

At the meeting, a presentation was made on the investment climate in Moldova, answers were given to businessmen's questions and proposals were made on ways to expand relations between business circles.
