Moscow deploys armed troops on elevated platforms amid drone threat PHOTO
Moscow has begun deploying elevated platforms staffed by armed military personnel as part of efforts to counter Ukrainian drone attacks.
One such installation was spotted near the Moscow City business district, with photographs published by journalist Aleksandr Plyushchev.

According to Plyushchev, a similar position has also been established in the Kapotnya district, home to Gazprom Neft’s Moscow Oil Refinery.
The refinery was reportedly targeted in a drone attack on June 16, after which a fire broke out at the facility. Sources cited by Reuters said the strike damaged the AVT-6 primary oil processing unit, forcing the refinery—which supplies fuel to the Russian capital—to suspend operations.
The latest security measures come amid a series of drone attacks targeting the Moscow region. Following similar incidents in May, additional Pantsir air defence missile systems were deployed across the capital and surrounding areas, including on the rooftops of several residential and office buildings.
Russian authorities have not publicly commented on the reported deployment of elevated military posts.
