Moscow hosts event commemorating Azerbaijani national leader Heydar Aliyev PHOTO
An evening dedicated to the memory of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, was organized by the Azerbaijani Embassy in Moscow on December 10.
As APA reported, the Special Representative of Russia's President for International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoy, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs and Chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party Leonid Slutsky, First Deputy General Director of the TASS News Agency Mikhail Gusman, officials of the Russian Foreign Ministry, representatives of the diplomatic corps of the Russian community, employees of the representative office of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, activists of the Azerbaijan Youth Organization, members of diaspora organizations and former associates of Heydar Aliyev, who worked with him in Moscow, attended the event.
Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu, who opened the event, said that back in the Soviet times, Heydar Aliyev, who headed the republic, turned Azerbaijan into one of the most advanced republics of the Soviet Union very quickly thanks to his principled approach, competence and profound knowledge.
Caliber.Az recalls, that the national leader and former President of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev, died on December 12, 2003 after having retired from politics.
