MP: Moldova, Azerbaijan developing cooperation plans in energy, agriculture, construction
Member of the Moldovan Parliament, Vitaly Zhakot has said that plans of cooperation are being developed with Azerbaijan in the energy sector, in the field of agriculture, construction.
According to him, there has been a rapid development of relations Moldova and Azerbaijan in recent years between, Report informs.
“This happened mainly due to the fact that the pro-European Action and Solidarity party came to power, and Maia Sandu, the founder of this party, occupies the presidency of the country. One of the priorities of this political party is the withdrawal of Moldova from international isolation, in which it found itself through the fault of the previous representatives of power," the MP said.
Zhakot noted with regret that the war in Ukraine made adjustments to the road map, which was jointly developed by Azerbaijan and Moldova.
“Important events were canceled or postponed both at the level of government bodies and at the level of economic agents in various fields. But despite any difficulties, both sides are making efforts to resume contacts at all levels. Meetings have already been held on the parliamentary platform (a visit to our country by the vice-speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament), meetings at the level of the government, youth organizations, educational institutions, and, of course, business structures. Diasporas are active, especially the numerous Azerbaijani diaspora in Moldova. And this is just the beginning. These contacts will be strengthened, new areas of interaction for mutually beneficial projects will be touched upon. This, in particular, is facilitated by the efforts undertaken in Moldova by the Ambassador of Azerbaijan, Gudsi Osmanov," he underlined.
"Naturally, new contacts are planned, plans for cooperation in the energy sector, agriculture, construction and other areas of economic cooperation are being developed. Cooperation in the field of culture, education, and security is also being actively considered. With the appointment of a new Moldovan ambassador to Azerbaijan, ties are being established in many areas that have so far stagnated,” the MP added.
