Over 700 historical, cultural monuments registered in Azerbaijan's liberated lands
Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Culture Saadat Yusifova has said that overall 706 historical and cultural monuments have been registered in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan.
Yusifova made the remarks at a conference on the theme "Ancient texts and classical sources expose Armenian falsifications and fabrications, or the truths of Zangezur - the ancient Azerbaijani-Turkic lands", held on the occasion of World Book and Copyright Day within the framework of " Year of Heydar Aliyev, APA reports.
She noted that during the initial monitoring, the Ministry of Culture examined 427 cultural and historical monuments in Shusha, Jabrayil, Fuzuli, Zangilan, Khojavand, Gubadli, Aghdam, Tartar, Lachin and Kalbajar regions. During the monitoring, it was found that many monuments were destroyed, appropriated and subjected to acts of vandalism.
“But we can say with confidence that, as a victorious people, we will restore Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur even better. Shusha, the cultural capital of Azerbaijan, has been declared the "Cultural Capital of the Turkic World" in 2023, and a solemn event will be held here in the coming days. People who returned to their homeland will bring back the true spirit of Karabakh, and Karabakh will again become the cultural center of the region," she stressed.
