The "Anatolian Phoenix - 2025" multinational search and rescue exercise in Konya, Türkiye, has successfully completed key operational tasks, including parachute training and coordinated search-and-rescue operations, enhancing international military cooperation and preparedness.
As part of the exercise, participants from various countries began with a comprehensive briefing, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry told Caliber.Az.
The session covered safety protocols, a breakdown of assigned tasks and their execution order, as well as an overview of the terrain and weather conditions in the operational area. This ensured that all units were aligned on procedures and expectations ahead of the simulated missions. The drills are designed to sharpen parachuting skills, elevate combat and technical training standards, and improve interoperability between the armed forces of participating nations.
Azerbaijan is taking part in the exercise with a broad delegation that includes Air Force pilots, paratroopers, search-and-rescue personnel, technical experts, and supporting aircraft crews. Their involvement underscores Azerbaijan’s commitment to regional cooperation and readiness in joint emergency response scenarios.
