Pashinyan signals Armenia’s expectation for concrete EU projects, funding

04 December 2025 16:14

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has called for tangible investment initiatives from the European Union, highlighting Armenia’s involvement in the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative, including the TRIPP project (“Trump Route”).

Speaking at a government briefing, Pashinyan responded to a question from local media regarding investments outlined in the Strategic Agenda for the EU-Armenia Partnership, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian news.

"The adoption of the The Strategic Agenda for the EU-Armenia Partnership marks a significant step in the development and deepening of our bilateral relations. Following the Washington agreements and the announcement of the TRIPP project, investment interest in Armenia has notably increased. Naturally, we are keen to see the EU take a concrete role and maintain a visible presence in our infrastructure projects," Pashinyan said.

He further emphasized: "Our future relations with the EU will continue to deepen, and under the ‘Crossroads of Peace,’ including the TRIPP project, we anticipate concrete EU investment programs and active participation."

The Prime Minister noted that cooperation with the EU extends beyond regional transport infrastructure, encompassing a broader strategic context.

Pashinyan also recalled that the EU had pledged €2.6 billion in support for Armenia several years ago. He stated that over €500 million has already been invested through these projects, including via private sector lending facilitated by the banking system.
