Putin congrats Iran's president-elect, vows continued relations

Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Massoud Pezeshkian on his election as Iranian president and expressed best wishes for his success.

In a phone call, Putin conveyed his congratulations to Pezeshkian and emphasized Russia's commitment to further strengthening allied ties with Tehran under the new leadership, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.

Following the snap presidential election's second round on July 5, where Pezeshkian, a moderate reformist and former health minister, secured victory with 53.6% of the vote, Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov highlighted Russia's hopes for Iran's continued success under its new president.
