Russia introduces “black sky” regime in Krasnoyarsk Amid severe cold
An adverse meteorological conditions (AMC) regime, commonly known as the “black sky” regime, has been introduced in Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia.
The Krasnoyarsk Krai department of Rospotrebnadzor said in a statement that the regime will remain in effect until the evening of January 28, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
“Starting today at 14:00, the Central Siberian Department for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring has introduced the AMC regime in Krasnoyarsk, which will remain in force until 19:00 on January 28. In this regard, Rospotrebnadzor has intensified monitoring of ambient air quality in the city,” the statement said.
Calm weather conditions have settled in Krasnoyarsk. On January 26, daytime temperatures reached minus 25 degrees Celsius, with light winds.
Under the “black sky” regime, industrial enterprises are required to reduce atmospheric emissions, while residents are advised to spend less time outdoors and limit the use of private vehicles.
