Russia and Iran have agreed to establish their first joint maritime consortium, Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali has said.
“Iran and Russia have agreed to create the first joint maritime transport consortium,” the diplomat wrote on X, per Caliber.Az.
According to Jalali, the agreement is the result of negotiations held on November 6–7 in Makhachkala with the participation of representatives from major companies and authorities of both countries.
He added that the two sides have already defined the overall structure and framework of the future project, while the details and official text of the agreement will be presented within a month.
Jalali also noted that the strategic goal of the new consortium is to develop trade, transport, and transit between Russia and Iran.
