Russia launches production of new version of Ovod kamikaze drones
Russia has launched manufacturing of a new version of the small-scale Ovod FPV kamikaze drones.
“An unmanned aerial vehicle Ovod (Gadfly) version 2.0 has been developed and launched into small-scale production,” Gazeta.ru reports, quoting the head of the design group manufacturer, Andrey Ivanov.
The unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is equipped with a converted electronic filling, an innovative propeller group, as well as some technical details that are still kept secret, Ivanov elaborated.
The drone works on the principle of First Person View (FPV). The operator of the device online views the image from the video camera through the monitor, video helmet, or video glasses. The cost of the second version of Ovod is about 65,000 rubles, the first was about 40,000 rubles, the report says.
“Ovod was prepared in the most reverent and thorough manner for use right out of the box,” Ivanov concluded.
