Russia receives significantly more Iranian goods since March
The volume of deliveries of Iranian goods to Russian markets has increased by 70% since March.
The data was published on October 9 by the chairman of the economic commission of the Iranian parliament, Mohammad Reza Purebrahimi, TASS reports.
“The 70% increase in exports of Iranian goods to Russia over the past six months indicates the beginning of a new stage in terms of expanding economic cooperation between the two states,” Iran-based Tasnim news service quoted him as saying. “The events of recent months and changes in Russia's economic relations with European countries open up new opportunities for Iranian-Russian cooperation.”
Purebrahimi also noted that the existing cooperation between the central banks of the two states, as well as a number of agreements regarding the increase in bilateral trade, can bring economic relations to new levels.
Moscow and Tehran are currently strengthening trade and economic cooperation. In January - July 2022, bilateral trade increased by 44.9% compared to the same period in 2021 and amounted to $ 2.8 billion. According to the Federal Customs Service of Russia, in 2021, the volume of mutual trade with Iran increased by 81.4% - from $2.2 billion to $4 billion.
