Russia’s drones to receive protection against electronic warfare
The Rosel holding, part of Rostec, has begun state testing of electromagnetic chip filters called “Podorozhnik,” designed to protect drones from electronic warfare (EW) systems.
The new components may also be used in field telephones, radio stations, and other sensitive electronics. “Podorozhnik” is intended to suppress electromagnetic pulses generated by EW systems, the state corporation wrote on Telegram.
“Such pulses can create high-voltage surges in cables and power circuits. These interferences can disable sensitive electronics in radar systems, communications, and navigation. ‘Podorozhnik’ protects devices from such effects,” the statement said.
The device has a service life of 20,000 hours and can operate in temperatures ranging from minus 60 to plus 125 degrees Celsius.
