Russia slams blacklisting Patriarch Kirill

Spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova has said that the statements regarding the plans to impose sanctions against Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia are made because of fear.

"Borrel as if a diplomat, a person who should be engaged in diplomacy, comes out and says that the EU should include Patriarch Kirill in a list, in particular, a black list," Zakharova noted while commenting on High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell’s statement, according to Sputnik radio.

She noted that the EU does not understand that this statement sounds infernal.

“The EU is so helpless, it is simply driven by fear,” Zakharova added.
