Russian Interior Ministry denies creation of shock battalions

The Interior Ministry of Russia has reacted to the news about the possible creation of volunteer, shock battalions under the ministry.

“The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs denied information published on the Internet about the alleged issuance of a departmental order on the creation of volunteer, shock battalions,” the ministry said on its official Telegram channel MVD (MIA) Media.

The press service of the ministry also published a photo of a fake order, which was allegedly signed by Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev.

According to Kommersant, the photo of the order was published on the Odnoklassniki social network. The document was allegedly signed on the basis of Order No. 15 of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief dated March 2 this year.

There is no such document in the public domain, the newspaper clarified.
