19 October 2024 16:18

The second group of travellers from Georgia has arrived in the liberated regions of Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur.

The visitors will begin their journey in Khankendi, where they will witness the aftermath of the destruction caused by Armenian forces during the occupation, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

On October 20, they are scheduled to visit Aghdam and Shusha, gaining firsthand insight into both the devastation and the ongoing reconstruction efforts in these areas.

This latest group is part of three delegations from Georgia, totalling 30 individuals, who are in Azerbaijan to explore the region's rebuilding initiatives. Their visit will wrap up on October 22.

The first group of Georgian travellers recently visited Aghdam, where they observed the significant damage inflicted by the Armenian occupation, as well as the restoration and construction projects currently underway. Their itinerary included tours of the restored Aghdam Mosque and the Alley of Martyrs, along with historical photographs illustrating the city before and after the occupation.

Additionally, travellers from Georgia toured the recently liberated city of Khankendi, examining the ongoing restoration work. They visited several sites, including the stadium, Karabakh University, and various historical and cultural monuments.

Overall, these visits aim to foster an understanding of the region's historical context and its current reconstruction efforts.
