Serbian media covers Azerbaijani parliamentary elections PHOTO
The snap parliamentary elections held in Azerbaijan on September 1 have captured the attention of Serbian media.
The articles in such major Serbian news websites as RTS, Politika, Tanjug, Novosti, SRNA, b92, N1info, and Gradske Info highlighted that 990 candidates competed for 125 seats in the legislative body, with voting taking place at 6,478 polling stations, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
Local reports also noted that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, and their daughter Leyla Aliyeva cast their votes at a polling station in Baku.
The ruling New Azerbaijan party, led by President Ilham Aliyev, achieved a decisive victory. These parliamentary elections were held across entire Azerbaijani territory for the first time. Additionally, the news websites mentioned that Azerbaijan will host the 29th session of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) this November.
