SOCAR, Equinor explore future collaboration
Azerbaijan's State Oil Company (SOCAR) and Norway's Equinor are actively pursuing opportunities for collaboration in the energy sector.
In a recent meeting between SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf and Equinor's Chief Vice President Giuseppina Ragone, several potential areas for cooperation were discussed, Caliber.Az reports citing local media.
The discussions centred around SOCAR's potential participation in the ONS Conference 2024, a significant event scheduled for August in Norway. This conference serves as a key platform for networking and discussing innovations in the offshore energy industry.
Additionally, Najaf and Ragone reviewed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in December, which focuses on cooperation in decarbonisation efforts. This agreement highlights both companies' commitment to exploring sustainable energy solutions and reducing carbon footprints in their operations.
Moreover, the meeting facilitated exchanges on broader areas of mutual interest, reflecting the shared goals and strategic priorities of SOCAR and Equinor in the evolving global energy landscape.
