Spokesperson: Iran faces war imposed by external forces “National unity is our greatest strength now”
The Iranian government spokesperson, Fatemeh Mohajerani, has confirmed that Iran is currently engaged in a war imposed upon the country.
Speaking on national television, she said recognising this fact changes the way the nation responds, Caliber.Az reports per Iranian media.
Mohajerani emphasised that national unity and cohesion are Iran’s greatest strengths at this time. She stressed that all Iranians, regardless of their background or beliefs, are united in support of the country. “Everyone is focused on Iran,” she said, “with no political or factional divisions.”
The spokesperson warned the public against sharing unverified information, videos, or images on social media, as these could unintentionally reveal sensitive details. She urged people to report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
Citizens were also asked to avoid gathering at incident sites, allowing emergency services and the Red Crescent to operate more effectively. Due to remote working policies, unnecessary travel should be limited.
Mohajerani revealed that 45 women and children have been killed in recent attacks by the Zionist regime, with many more injured. She condemned the targeting of a hospital in Kermanshah, calling it further proof of the aggressor’s brutality.
On essential services, she reassured the public that metro stations remain open or will reopen with safety measures. Banks and financial institutions continue to operate normally, while the stock market is temporarily closed to protect people’s assets.
The government has also temporarily reduced internet speeds to defend against ongoing cyberattacks, a measure described as necessary for network security.
Payments to wheat farmers and pharmacies will begin tomorrow, and salaries for May will be paid as usual, with adjustments to be made next month.
Mohajerani noted that strategic reserves of essential goods are in good condition, with authorities prepared to ensure continued supply. Schools, mosques, and shrines have been opened for public use, and crisis centres have been set up in the health ministry and provinces to coordinate emergency response.
She praised emergency workers for their tireless efforts and expressed confidence that Iran’s ancient civilisation will endure.
The government spokesperson concluded by thanking Iranian citizens abroad for their support and urged everyone to remain calm and united during these difficult times.
