Top official: Russia can use its superweapon in response to potential Western escalation
Chairwoman of the Russian Federation Council, Valentina Matvienko, has stated that President Vladimir Putin’s recent message regarding weaponry has been received and decoded by all its intended recipients.
Speaking at a plenary session, Matvienko emphasized that this understanding is clear within Russia, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
“Of course, everyone understands this was a powerful signal. We are fully aware that the signal has been received and decoded by all the intended parties,” Matvienko remarked.
She dismissed Western media's portrayal of the statement as a threat or ultimatum, characterizing it instead as a calm, reasoned, and well-grounded message to global leaders, supported by Russia's actions.
“This message places primary emphasis on its meaning. It is clear: our actions are a response to the West's continued escalation and steps that have led to attacks on Russian targets using long-range weaponry. We are warning against the inadmissibility of such actions,” she stressed.
Matvienko also highlighted Russia’s readiness for any scenario, asserting that the country possesses advanced weaponry capable of delivering a “tangible and inevitable response.”
The senator underlined a significant aspect of President Putin’s actions and words: the potential to shift the situation toward a peaceful resolution of the conflict while ensuring Russia’s security, sovereignty, and national interests.
She described the message as a warning against reckless escalation, which, she said, “will never achieve the desired outcome,” as Russia has demonstrated on the battlefield.
This statement comes amid heightened tensions and growing scrutiny from the international community over Russia's military and political manoeuvres.
