Turkish Foreign Ministry condemns burning of Koran in Sweden
The Turkish Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the attempt to burn the Koran in Sweden.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry issued a statement about this.
“The heinous attacks on our holy book the Quran in Sweden have shown that lessons from the past have not been learned, that there is still hesitation to crack down on Islamophobic and racist acts, and that Islamophobia and racism are openly tolerated under the guise of free speech. Turkey will continue to fight the threat posed by Islamophobic and racist thinking.
In this context, we call on all countries and international organizations to take the necessary measures against Islamophobia and racism, to accelerate the adoption of effective steps against this threat, and we are waiting for the relevant persons to be held accountable,” the Foreign Ministry noted.
Recall that several people burned the Koran in the Swedish city of Norrköping.
