A total of 293 individuals suspected of drug trafficking were detained during the raids.
This latest operation builds on previous anti-drug efforts. On September 12, Turkish law enforcement agencies had already made substantial gains, confiscating 580 kilograms of various narcotic substances and 121,970 psychotropic pills. The crackdown resulted in the arrest of 316 suspected traffickers.
Türkiye, serving as a critical transit hub for illegal drugs destined for European markets, has significantly intensified its anti-smuggling operations since 2023. Operation Narkoçelik-39 highlights the country's ongoing commitment to eradicating drug trafficking and dismantling associated smuggling networks.
