Türkiye’s KAAN, Hürjet combat aircraft receive major technical upgrades PHOTO
One of the rapidly growing sectors in Türkiye since the mid-2000s is the defence industry.
Currently, numerous aviation projects are being implemented, including both manned and unmanned systems, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.
The recent updates to the technical specifications of the KAAN and Hürjet combat aircraft serve as notable examples of this progress. The length of the national fifth-generation fighter, KAAN, has been reduced by 0.7 metres.
Additionally, its wingspan has been shortened by 0.6 metres, and its height has been lowered by 1 metre. Changes to the Hürjet are more significant. The aircraft's payload capacity has increased from 2.7 tons to 3.4 tons.
The climb rate has been announced as 48,500 feet, representing an altitude increase of 9,500 feet. The engine power of the Hürjet has been boosted to 17,700 pounds, while its height has been reduced from 5.1 metres to 4.1 metres. The aircraft’s range has also decreased from 2,222 kilometres to 1,963 kilometres.
