Türkiye sends fresh humanitarian aid to earthquake-hit Venezuela PHOTO
Türkiye has delivered two truckloads of emergency shelter and essential relief supplies to Venezuela's earthquake-hit La Guaira state through the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), Turkish officials said on Friday (July 10).
The shipment, which included tents, sleeping bags, kitchen sets and portable stoves, was handed over to La Guaira authorities at Jose Maria Vargas Stadium, where humanitarian aid is being coordinated, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.
The handover ceremony was attended by Türkiye's Ambassador to Caracas Naci Aydan Karamanoğlu, La Guaira Governor Jose Alejandro Terán, TİKA Bogotá Programme Coordinator Ahmed Faruk Muştakoğlu, Brigadier General Mehmet Bahtiyar, commander of the Turkish Armed Forces Humanitarian Assistance Brigade, as well as officials from the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) and the National Medical Rescue Team (UMKE).

Speaking at the ceremony, Karamanoğlu said the latest shipment included 100 tents, 200 sleeping bags, 200 beds and other kitchen equipment, describing it as TİKA's third delivery of humanitarian assistance to the disaster-stricken area.
He said Türkiye would continue supporting Venezuela's earthquake recovery efforts and announced that two aircraft carrying additional humanitarian aid are due to arrive in the country on July 12.

TİKA had previously supplied search and rescue equipment, emergency relief items, food and hygiene kits to people affected by the earthquake in La Guaira.
