Türkiye strengthens air defence with Patriot system in Malatya
The Ministry of National Defence of Türkiye said a Patriot air defence system has been deployed in the southeastern city of Malatya as part of measures aimed at strengthening the country’s air and missile defence.
In a statement posted on the social media platform X, the ministry said the Turkish Armed Forces remain fully committed to ensuring the security of the country and its citizens, as per Caliber.Az.

“The Turkish Armed Forces are fully committed to ensuring the security of our country and our citizens. In light of the recent developments in our region, the necessary measures are being taken to ensure the security of our borders and airspace, and we are conducting consultations with NATO and our allies,” the ministry said.
The statement noted that, in addition to national measures taken by Türkiye, NATO has also strengthened its air and missile defence posture.
“Within this framework, the Patriot system is currently located in Malatya and is preparing to protect our airspace,” the ministry said.
It added that Türkiye will continue to monitor regional developments in close cooperation and consultation with NATO and allied countries.
“Our country, which maintains its defence potential and its ability to ensure security at the highest level, will continue to evaluate developments in cooperation and consultation with NATO and allies and will strive for regional peace and stability,” the statement said.
