Türkiye transfers all helicopter crash data to Iran
In a prompt and coordinated response, Türkiye has handed over all pertinent information to Iran regarding the crash of President Ebrahim Raisi's helicopter.
The Turkish authorities deployed 32 climbers, six units of specialized equipment, and a helicopter equipped with a night vision system to the crash site, daily Hürriyet reports.
Throughout the search and rescue operation, all gathered data was promptly shared with Iranian officials. The publication highlighted the critical role played by Türkiye's organizational capabilities and inter-agency cooperation in locating the downed helicopter, crediting the Akıncı unmanned aerial vehicle for its instrumental role in the search.
The incident, which occurred on May 19 in the mountainous regions, has left "many questions" unanswered, sparking significant interest in Ankara. President Raisi's duties have been temporarily transferred to First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber, with an extraordinary presidential election scheduled in the aftermath.
