UK MP highlights his childhood memories in Baku at First Azerbaijan-UK Policy Dialogue
Lord Aamer Sarfraz, a member of the UK House of Lords, has highlighted that Azerbaijan has played a significant role in his childhood.
He voiced the statement during the opening ceremony of the first Azerbaijan-UK Policy Dialogue, describing his participation in this event as a “great honour”, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
"Azerbaijan played a big role in my childhood. In the early 1990s, my father was an investor in Azerbaijan, and we often visited here. I have fond memories of many historical sites in Baku. Therefore, it is a great honour for me to speak at the first Azerbaijan-UK Political Dialogue," Lord Sarfraz said.
Lord Sarfraz underscored the ongoing success of strategic relations between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom, emphasising the importance of expanding cooperation beyond government institutions.
“I believe this collaboration should develop not only between state bodies but also among private entrepreneurs and investors in Azerbaijan and the UK,” he said.
He further noted the potential for partnership in emerging sectors, including artificial intelligence. “Enhancing engagement between private companies and entrepreneurs will create opportunities to strengthen ties across multiple fields,” Lord Sarfraz added.
