Ukraine conducts overnight drone strikes on five Russian regions, all intercepted
The Russian Ministry of Defence has reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched coordinated drone attacks on five Russian regions overnight from September 29 to 30.
The strikes targeted Voronezh, Belgorod, Rostov, Kursk, and Volgograd regions, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
A total of 81 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were deployed, all of which were intercepted and destroyed by Russian air defence systems.
Voronezh and Belgorod regions experienced the highest number of UAVs neutralised, with 26 and 25, respectively.
On September 28, Russia carried out a major aerial assault on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities, deploying nearly 600 drones and around 50 missiles, Ukraine’s air force reported.
The strikes targeted residential areas and a cardiology institute in Kyiv, killing four people, including a 12-year-old girl, and wounding around 40 others, including children.
The attacks, which lasted about 12 hours, left widespread damage to homes, vehicles, and the hospital, as firefighters worked to contain the destruction.
