Western Azerbaijan Community slams Armenia for refusing to acknowledge crimes against Azerbaijan
The Western Azerbaijan Community issued a statement commemorating the Victory Day celebrated on November 8 in Azerbaijan.
The day symbolizes the triumph of justice, the resilience of the Azerbaijani people, and the military strength of the country, which had long suffered from occupation, ethnic cleansing, and genocide at the hands of Armenia, Caliber.Az reports, citing the community.
"The victory over Armenia's aggressive policies, rooted in an ideology of racism and expansionism, upheld the supremacy of international law. We, Western Azerbaijanis, who were forcibly displaced from our ancestral lands due to Armenia's ethnic cleansing, firmly believe that justice will prevail once more, allowing us to return to our homeland safely and with dignity," the statement said.
The statement further highlighted that Azerbaijan's historic victory provides a solid foundation for lasting peace in the region. However, it expressed concern over Armenia's actions, stating, "Unfortunately, Armenia obstructs this peace. The country refuses to acknowledge its responsibility for countless crimes against Azerbaijan, continues to glorify war criminals, maintains constitutional provisions for territorial claims against our nation, and pursues a widespread policy of militarization."
The community called on Armenia to cease its destructive actions, ensure the peaceful return of Western Azerbaijanis, and engage in dialogue to achieve this goal.
"Armenia views the activities of the Western Azerbaijan Community as a threat to its territorial integrity, which is unacceptable. Our struggle is a matter of human rights and the return to the land of our ancestors. We urge the international community to exert pressure on Armenia to take the necessary steps," the community concluded.
