Western Azerbaijan Community slams decline of French diplomacy
The Western Azerbaijan Community has expressed dismay over the conduct of the French Ambassador to Armenia, condemning his recent remarks as inappropriate and politically motivated.
In a statement, the community accused the ambassador of aligning with the Dashnak, a revanchist Armenian group, rather than acting as a diplomat, Caliber.Az reports.
The Western Azerbaijan Community emphasized that his comments, following the Armenian Prime Minister's address at the UN General Assembly, further undermine not only his credibility but also that of France, which has faced increasing diplomatic setbacks in recent years.
The community expressed dismay at the decline of French diplomacy, noting its fall from the historical prominence of figures like Talleyrand to its current state, as exemplified by the ambassador's remarks.
“We would like to remind the ambassador that Azerbaijan endured thirty years of occupation, during which France provided support for this situation. Furthermore, we want to highlight the example of Ahmadiyya Jabrayilov, a testament to the sacrifices made by Azerbaijani soldiers who selflessly fought for France’s liberation from Nazi occupation," the community stated.
