Azerbaijani FM discusses multifaceted cooperation with Greek, Hungarian colleagues
POLITICS 02 December 2022 - 15:31
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and his Greek counterpart Nikos Dendias have discussed a series of cooperative issues on agenda, ties in the political, economic, trade, energy, humanitarian and other spheres, including cooperation within international organisations.
Bayramov made the remarks in a conversation with Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias at the 29th OSCE Ministerial Council Meeting on December 2, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
The importance of the meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis during the opening ceremony of the Greece-Bulgaria gas interconnector (on a TANAP section) on October 1 was also emphasised.
Bayramov briefed his colleague in detail on the new realities of the post-conflict phase in the South Caucasus, the process of normalisation of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the reconstruction and construction work in the liberated territories, and the difficulties and obstacles Armenia is encountering in the process.
Meanwhile, as part of the OSCE Meeting, Minister Bayramov also met with Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó, during which they deliberated about the expansion of high-level dialogue between the two states and an increase in the number of mutual visits.
During the meeting, the parties noted a series of projects being implemented between the two countries in the political, trade and economic, energy, agricultural, cultural and educational spheres, and voiced common interests for further deepening of ties in these and other areas.
The sides also agreed to continue the positive momentum of cooperation in multilateral platforms, including the Organisation of Turkic States.
In conclusion, Bayramov informed his Hungarian counterpart about the process of normalization of Azerbaijani-Armenian relations, as well as the large-scale reconstruction work underway in Azerbaijan’s liberated lands, and hailed Hungary’s intention to contribute to these efforts.
