Azerbaijan, IFC discuss energy cooperation prospects

Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov received a delegation led by the Director of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) for the European region Rana Karadsheh.

Report informs with reference to the ministry that during the meeting the sides discussed prospects of cooperation in the energy sphere and jointly implemented projects were viewed as examples of successful development of mutual relations.

Besides, they discussed the role of the energy sector in the economic development of our country, the implemented projects, etc. Prospects of accelerating private sector involvement in the energy sector and development of cooperation with IFC in this area were discussed.

IFC has expressed interest in the implementation of offshore wind energy projects in Azerbaijan as well as possible participation in other renewable energy projects.
