Another Armenian political party challenges parliamentary election results
Another Armenian political party has formally challenged the results of the country's recent National Assembly election, seeking to have the vote declared invalid.
The opposition-oriented Wings of Unity party has submitted a petition to Armenia’s Constitutional Court, alleging that electoral violations undermined the integrity of the election process, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.
Party representative Liparit Drmeyan said the petition argues that irregularities during both the election campaign and voting day affected the free expression of voters' will and violated the principle of electoral equality.
“We are convinced that the violations that took place both on election day and throughout the entire election campaign collectively influenced the free expression of voters’ will,” Drmeyan said.
The party's filing cites several alleged violations, including the use of administrative resources by the authorities, pressure on political groups, and efforts to influence voters.
The challenge follows a similar appeal filed by the Strong Armenia bloc, led by businessman Samvel Karapetyan, which also called for the election results to be annulled.
