Armenia officially launches visa liberalization talks with EU
Armenia and the European Union have officially commenced negotiations on visa liberalization, marking a key step in modernizing Armenia's migration policies.
Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan made the announcement during a press conference following a meeting with European Commission Deputy Head Margaritis Schinas, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
"Armenia places great importance on starting this dialogue, while recognizing the need for consistent and focused efforts to reach the final goal. We view this as a strategic agenda for modernizing migration, free movement, and border management," Grigoryan stated.
Schinas highlighted that the completion of these talks would allow all Armenian citizens to travel visa-free to the European Union for short-term stays.
Previously, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted in discussions with Schinas that Armenia is expanding its agenda with the EU, even hinting at the possibility of joining the Union.
