Armenian opposition moves to oust Pashinyan over "governance failures"
The Armenian opposition faction “I Have Honour” has announced its intention to formally express distrust in Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in the National Assembly.
According to Caliber.Az, citing Armenian media, the faction has published the draft text of a statement titled “On expressing no confidence in the Prime Minister of Armenia on the grounds of a national crisis and failures in governance”.
The document, shared by faction leader Hayk Mamijanyan, outlines in detail the areas in which opposition MPs believe Pashinyan and his Civil Contract party have failed to deliver effective governance.
On September 11, Mamijanyan informed parliament that the faction plans to hold parliamentary hearings later this month. The stated goal is to rally both parliamentary and extra-parliamentary forces around the motion of a no-confidence vote against the prime minister.
Mamijanyan emphasised that the coalition of participants will exclude any political forces promoting revanchist ideologies, particularly with an eye toward the upcoming 2026 parliamentary elections.
It is worth noting that Armenia’s next parliamentary elections are scheduled for the summer of 2026.
