Armenian opposition outraged by MFA's denial of access to Azerbaijani peace proposals
The Armenian Foreign Ministry has denied opposition MPs access to Azerbaijan's latest peace treaty proposals, Gegham Manukyan, representative of the opposition parliamentary faction "Armenia" said on social networks.
The request to get acquainted with the new package of proposals submitted on February 23 was rejected, Caliber.Az quotes Manukyan.
The ministry argued that disclosing the data at such an early stage could hamper negotiations and lead to misinterpretation of the agreement.
It is worth recalling that opposition MPs had a look at the Azerbaijani proposals in January. At the time, Manukyan said that "Baku's initiatives do not contribute to a peaceful settlement". In response, the Armenian Foreign Ministry warned the MPs that access to such documents might be restricted in the future.
