Armenian security service detains next spy working for foreign intelligence
The National Security Service of Armenia has identified a contract serviceman who was transmitting important data to a foreign intelligence service.
“According to the investigation, contractor V.Kh in November 2021, on the Odnoklassniki social network, met an employee of a foreign intelligence service, and for six months, through the Whatsapp social network, he transmitted information constituting state and official secrets about the location of his military unit, combat positions, the procedure for conducting service, as well as vehicles on military unit balance. In return, the contractor received $370," the Service reported, Caliber.Az informs, citing the Armenian media.
He has been charged with treason and arrested. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
Earlier on October 15, the National Security Service of Armenia reported that it had detained a contract serviceman, a platoon commander of one of the units of the Armenian Defense Ministry, on charges of treason.
