Armenians attack truck with Iranian national hero's portrait VIDEO
Another incident related to outright Turkophobia has occurred in Armenia.
Proceeding from the video footage, a heavy truck with a portrait of Sattar-Khan from Iran was stopped on one of the roads in Armenia, Caliber.Az reports.
The driver was forced to paint the poster.
Sattar-Khan is one of the participants in the Constitutional Revolution in Iran in 1905-1911, a figure in the democratic movement in Iranian Azerbaijan.
He was one of the leaders of the popular uprising in Tabriz against the Shah's regime.
During 1908-1910 Sattar-Khan's name was always mentioned in influential European newspapers.
Sattarkhan was called "Azerbaijani Pugachev" and "Persian Garibaldi" in the Russian and Western European press.
Among the glorious heroes who fought for the freedom and independence of the Azerbaijani people, Sattar-Khan holds a special place. People composed dastans (tale) and songs in honour of Sattar-Khan.
The works of art, namely, novels and poems were also dedicated to him. A monument to Sattar-Khan was erected in Tabriz. One of the streets of the city is named after him.
Proceeding from the fact that the driver of the Iranian heavy truck was forced to paint the poster, the name of the outstanding son of the Azerbaijani people strikes fear into the Armenians.
Such a sign of Turkophobia is also disrespectful to Iran as Sattar-Khan is a very honourable figure in this country as well.
