Azerbaijan Airlines fully transfers its information systems to Government Cloud
The ongoing implementation of Decree #718, issued by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on June 3, 2019, focuses on creating the Government Cloud (G-cloud) and providing cloud services.
As part of this initiative, state institutions are transferring their information systems and resources either fully or partially to the Baku and Yevlakh Data Centres, which are managed by AzInTelecom LLC under the Azerbaijani Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, Caliber.Az reports citing the local media.
Azerbaijan Airlines Closed Joint Stock Company (AZAL) is the latest state institution to transfer its information systems and resources to the G-Cloud. During this migration, AZAL adopted the IaaS (Infrastructure-as-a-Service) virtual server service offered by AzInTelecom LLC. Additionally, the company utilized the BaaS (Backup-as-a-Service) cloud service for secure data storage.
Furthermore, AzInTelecom provided AZAL with AzDoc software, facilitating electronic document circulation across all its departments. AZAL has ensured high availability for its critical systems by fully deploying its information systems in the Baku Data Centre.
All structures of AZAL, including Heydar Aliyev International Airport, have integrated the mentioned cloud services.
The migration of government institutions to the G-Cloud aims to reduce current IT costs while enhancing the productivity of information systems. This transition also improves the security of information systems, establishes a stable and resilient IT infrastructure, and ensures high-quality service delivery through prompt coordination and 24/7 monitoring.
AzInTelecom LLC holds the distinction of being the first institution in Azerbaijan and the South Caucasus region to receive the TIER III International compliance certificate. Additionally, the company operates two Data Centers that adhere to the standards of ISO 20000, ISO 22301, and ISO 27001 certifications.
