Azerbaijan, Cambodia discuss cooperation prospects PHOTO
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Senior Advisor to the Royal Government of Cambodia Sok Siphana, who is in Baku as part of the Non-Aligned Movement's Contact Group in response to COVID-19, have met to discuss prospects of cooperation.
At the meeting, the sides focused on prospects for Azerbaijan-Cambodia cooperation at bilateral and multilateral levels, on the regional and international situation, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Caliber.Az.
Bayramov noted the importance of developing cooperation between the countries.
It was noted that the Non-Aligned Movement makes a significant contribution to the development of relations between the participating countries.
Bayramov stated that Azerbaijan will continue making efforts to expand cooperation within the NAM.
The minister also informed Siphana about the regional situation in the post-conflict period, as well as the remaining mine threat.
Siphana stated that Cambodia is interested in developing relations with Azerbaijan.
He noted that Azerbaijan’s chairmanship in the NAM made a significant contribution to the NAM’s development.
Siphana added that Azerbaijan and Cambodia have broad cooperation prospects in agriculture, education and tourism.
He positively assessed the admission of the Azerbaijani parliament as an observer member to the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly.
The sides also discussed the cooperation prospects in the demining process.
