Azerbaijan emphasizes commitment to global climate crisis
Azerbaijan reaffirmed its commitment to addressing the global climate crisis at the COP29 conference in Baku.
Speaking at the event, UN Climate Change High-Level Champion for COP29, MP Nigar Arpadarai, emphasized Azerbaijan's respect for international law and its sensitivity to climate issues, APA reports.
Arpadarai highlighted the forum's key priorities, stressing the crucial role of the private sector in combating climate change. "The private sector's approach to climate change is very important. This sector has great power in issues such as changing the supply chain process," she noted.
She also underscored the significant financial requirements for transitioning to a green economy, stating, "Governments cannot do it alone. The absolute support of the private sector is important in this sense."
The MP concluded by discussing the ongoing preparations of the COP29 team for the prestigious event set to take place in November, underscoring Azerbaijan's proactive stance on global climate action.
