Azerbaijan extradites wanted Russian citizen

A Russian citizen detained in Azerbaijan has been extradited to Russia.

The information was disseminated by the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General's Office, Caliber.Az reports.

The Azerbaijani General Prosecutor's Office has granted the request of the Russian General Prosecutor's Office to extradite Russian citizen Vladislav Golubev, 58, for criminal prosecution.

Golubev was put on the interstate wanted list by the Russian law enforcement agencies upon charges under Article 196 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

Thus, Golubev was detained at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport while passing border control on November 11, 2023 and arrested.

A decision was made to extradite Golubev in accordance with the requirements of the Convention “On Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Matters” dated October 7, 2002. Golubev, accompanied by a special convoy from the Penitentiary Service of the Justice Ministry, was handed over to the representatives of the Russian authorised bodies.
