Azerbaijan invests over $14 billion in Karabakh reconstruction
Azerbaijan has allocated more than 25 billion manats ($14.7 billion) for the restoration of the liberated territories of Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur, Prime Minister Ali Asadov said.
Addressing the plenary session of the Milli Majlis (Parliament), Asadov provided an update on the progress of restoration and construction efforts in the territories liberated following the 2020 Karabakh war, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
He highlighted the ongoing importance of infrastructure projects in the Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur regions, emphasising that these areas remain a top priority for public investment.
"From 2020 through 2026, over 25 billion manats [$14.7 billion] have been allocated for the restoration of the liberated territories, including 3.5 billion manats [$2.1 billion] in the 2026 budget," the prime minister stated.
He noted that the majority of these funds are being channeled into infrastructure projects, which are expected to significantly boost Azerbaijan's economy in the medium to long term.
The prime minister also emphasised that the restoration work is progressing rapidly under the direct supervision of President Ilham Aliyev.
